K9 Highland Dog Chew Vs. Rawhide

This week black Labrador Bella carried out a taste test for us; we gave her the option of a standard Rawhide chew and a K9 Highland Dog Chew. They were both laid out in front of her and as you will see in the video, it does not take her long to snatch up the K9 and run off to her hidey hole to devour it!

Take a look at the video here: K9 Highland Dog Chew Vs. Rawhide

Gone to the Snow Dogs Product Review

Gone to the Snow Dogs

This week 3 lovely Siberian Huskies from Michigan - in the US - reviewed K9 Highland Dog Chew.

Shiloh, Shelby and Oakley are stars of the popular YouTube channel and website; Gone to the Snow Dogs.

Oakley (known as the more aggressive chewer) took hers first and chewed until it was all gone – it lasted her just over an hour.

Shelby then took hers and chewed non-stop for 2 hours until it was all gone.

And Shiloh unfortunately had a problem with her jaw so she could not tackle it. Get well soon Shiloh!

Here at K9 Highland Dog Chew we are often asked the question: “How long is long-lasting?” and it is a difficult question to answer because all dogs differ in size, jaw strength and personality.
However this video helps give dog owners some idea how long they last for the larger dogs and the more voracious chewers.

Milk Protein: The Facts

K9 Highland Dog Chew is 63.1% pure milk protein!

Today we are going to be talking to you about the benefits of milk protein for your dog.

First of all, you may be wondering why proteins are good for your dog and the answer is simple; proteins are necessary for all aspects of growth and development and are very important in your dog’s structural makeup and his/her immune system.

Now for the “sciencey” part, we will keep it simple!

The “Biological Value” of a protein is a number value that measures how well the body can absorb and utilize a protein. The higher the Biological Value of the protein the better because it means your dog is absorbing and utilizing the protein more efficiently.

Let us put things in simpler terms by giving some examples:

Whey has the highest biological value at 104 closely followed by egg, which has a value of 100. Milk protein comes in at 92, beef is around 78 and meat and bone meal are around 50.
As you can see, although all proteins are good for your dog, not all of them are as beneficial as each other.
Milk protein is in the top three highest biological values for proteins and when we remember that K9 Highland Dog Chew is made up of 63.1% milk protein it is easy to see why it is so good for your dog.

We use fresh non-fat cow’s milk to make our chews which means your dog will be getting a very healthy yet tasty treat packed with beneficial milk protein.
